Home Information Packs were introduced by the Government to reduce the number of failed residential property transactions by providing important information to the prospective buyer before an offer is made. The HIP includes Property Information Questionnaire to include basic information from the owner, local planning, drainage and water, ownership and environmental considerations.  A HIP also contains valuable information on the property’s carbon footprint and on how to improve it via the Energy Performance Certificate.

The HIP became compulsory on all properties on 14th December 2007. There are some  type of properties which do not requite a HIP. Please contact us for assistance.
